COMPANY SECRETARY

Sedibeng Water, with its headquarters situated in Balkfontein just outside Bothaville,
has an operational area that covers about 86 000km² making it one of the largest
water utilities providing services to approximately two million people across three
provinces, namely Free State, North West and Northern Cape.
In order to meet the demands of its growth strategy, the organisation is looking for
suitably qualified individuals to fill the following vacancies:

Prerequisites: â€¢ Relevant Bachelor’s degree (in Commercial Law preferably) • LLB
qualification would be an added advantage • Valid driver’s licence • 5 years’ relevant
experience at management level • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to interact at all levels • Analytical skills • Ability to produce and edit technical reports
• Proven negotiation and facilitation skills.
Major responsibilities:ʉۢ Arrange Board, MANCO and SCM meetings by issuing proper
notices, prepare agenda circulation of relevant papers, take and produce minutes and resolve
meetings • Coordinate the compilation of Board, MANCO and SCM documents, business
plans, quarterly and annual reports • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory
requirements • Provide advice to the Board on fiduciary duties, legal and corporate
governance matters • Formulate the organisation’s policy and guidelines for filing and
retention of documents • Draft and update terms of references for the Board and Subcommittees
• Ensure protection of the organisation’s intellectual documents • Facilitate
performance assessments of the Board and its Sub-committees • Draft policies and
procedures including, but not limited to, Ethics Policy, Code of Conduct, etc.
