Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to help support the HR activities for HRW’s operations in over 60 locations around the world.  This position reports to a Senior HR Manager of the pre-hire unit.
Responsibilities:
1. Liaise effectively with HRW staff in headquarters and offices located outside HQ to ensure effective coordination of pre-hire and consultancy activities to;
2. Manage US staff’s immigration and visa issues; assist with the international immigration issues;
3. Manage matters relating to consultancies, including drafting contracts and extensions;
4. Maintain the log of consultants;
5. Assist the Senior HR Manager with the recruitment of US-based and international staff;
6. Assist in the drafting and processing of US hire letters and extensions;
7. Assist with reviewing policies and procedures pertaining to recruitment and consultancies;
8. Assist in the development of internal training sessions on pre-hire topics; and
9. Perform other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Education:  A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or a related field is required.
Experience:  Minimum three years of HR experience in an international setting, particularly in recruitment.
Related Skills and Knowledge:
1. Ability to create and maintain a tracking system of recruitment and consultants are required.
2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all level of staff within the organization are required.
3. Ability to work well under pressure, while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously under minimal supervision, is required.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required; proficiency in another language is desirable.
5. Ability to make sound decisions consistent with functions is required.
6. Strong computer knowledge including Windows, MS Office applications, Internet, and HR Management Systems is required.
7. Experience drafting or editing contracts is highly desirable.
Other: Applicants for this position must possess current US work authorization valid for a minimum of two years from start date.
