Policy Advisor

We are looking for a
 
Policy Advisor Leading Oxfam Novib NOW
16-24 hours a week, initially for a period of 9 months
Oxfam Novib’s program Oxfam Novib NOW was started up with the objective to improve access to organisational information (programme and project data, monitoring information, documents, pictures, stories) A first version of Atlas (project browser) is in test phase. Oxfam Novib is currently looking for a policy advisor to lead this program, to carry out the development of Atlas in its next planned phase.  This program and its products have a variety of target groups, both within and outside of the organisation, that each has their own business logic and requirements.
Main tasks:
  • Ample experience in leading, managing and coaching interdisciplinary teams including all round IT-staff; experience with Agile/SCRUM is a plus;
  • A web professional with demonstrated experience in setting up digital work environments and ICT infrastructures, including socio-technical processes;
  • Experience with the IATI standard for sharing open data in the development sector is an asset;
  • Experience in the sector of international development is an asset.
Skills:
  • University degree with 5 to 10 years relevant experience and/or training in information and knowledge management with ICT component;
  • Natural connector;
  • Leadership, facilitation and coaching skills;
  • Excellent planning and organisational project management skills;
  • Up to speed with current and future developments, opportunities and applications in the field of ICT, information management, open data in the development sector, social media and user experience/usability in an international setting;
  • Proven ability to work efficiently to troubleshoot and follow projects through to completion, consistently on schedule, without loss of attention to detail and budget;
  • Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects and ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Able to think and work on a strategic level while being pragmatic, hands-on and paying attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills with sensitivity to cultural communication differences.
Salary indication
A competitive, fair and comprehensive pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. The position is graded in scale 9 and is set between € 2607,- and € 4011,- gross per month based on a 36-hour week.
