The Common Fund for Commodities is an intergovernmental financial institution based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, providing assistance for commodity development through an ongoing portfolio of a broad range of projects following a multi-country approach. Activities focus on increasing efficiency of commodity production, processing, manufacturing, and trade. The Fund urgently requires an experienced commodity project/portfolio manager.  The assignment will be on a short term contract basis for a period provisionally not exceeding six months. The Temporary Project Manager position is based in our Amsterdam Office.
Selection Criteria:
  • Advanced University degree (Masters or equivalent) with specialization in economics, management, agriculture or related field.
  • Sound experience (at least five years) in the field of project management and administration.
  • Relevant field experience related to development of projects in Africa and/or Latin America.
  • Ability to quickly absorb new responsibilities and flexibility in assuming new assignments as required.
  • Sound capability for the assessment of project technical and financial reporting (at managerial level).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong team player with excellent client service orientation and openness to feedback and new ideas.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. Working knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel if and as required.
The remuneration for the position is around net € 3,500 per month (tax free) depending on qualifications.
