OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The objective of the Department is to provide leadership in the conceptualization, development and implementation of an integrated programme management system for WHO. As such, the Department serves as the Organization's focal point for the continuous improvement of WHO's managerial processes (i.e. strategic planning, operational planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation), facilitating consistent implementation of these processes, and developing tools to enable a corporate approach to result based programme management.
Description of duties:
- Support the consolidation, analysis and finalization of the 2014-15 Programme Budget allocation in preparation of GSM (Global Management System) recording.
- Support the collection, consolidation and analysis of HR envelopes for 2014-15 operational plans.
- Assist in the collection and summarization of budget requirements for entities and results not falling within the 2014-2015 Programme Budget.
- Prepare summary tables validated against input received from HQ clusters and Regional Offices
- Participate in the development/maintenance of related guidance material.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
First university degree in a relevant field.

Skills: 
Essential: Good IT knowledge with excellent Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. High attention to detail.
Desirable: Understanding of WHO budget structures and policies.
Experience:
Essential: At least two years of experience relevant to the position. Proven analytical experience.
Desirable: Relevant experience in WHO or another UN agency.
Languages:
Essential: Expert knowledge of English.
Desirable: Intermediate knowledge of another UN language.
Additional Information:
Priority will be given to internal candidates.

Monthly salary: (Net of tax)
USD3,894 at single rate
USD4,151 with primary dependants
Post Adjustment: 103.3 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
