Nutrition & Health Policies Officer

The European Dairy Association (EDA) is the voice of the milk processing industry in the European Union.
Our members are the national trade associations for dairy processors in EU Member States.

We are looking for a “Nutrition & Health Policies” Officer to join our “Food & Environment Policy” department in December 2013.

Profile:

•  Scientific degree in nutrition / health science or similar background
•  Understanding of the EU policy making process and experience in EU food law
•  Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English, proficiency in French and/or Dutch would be an advantage
•  Flexible and dynamic team player
•  Capacity to prioritize and proactivity in pursuing the sectors’ topics
•  Able to work on their own initiative and take responsibility

Main responsibilities:

•  Monitor, analyse and evaluate the impact of legislative developments at the EU level in the areas of nutrition, consumer information policies, incl. labelling and research
• Inform our EDA members, support and steer the activities of our related working groups
•  Write EDA position papers, reports and other publications
•  Maintain contacts with representatives of various EU authorities and other relevant stakeholders
•  Additional support of the department or office (related topics, administrative and internal processes)
