At ActionAid we are delivering a bold strategy to provide sustained improvements to the poorest and most excluded people in the world. It means we’re creating fantastic career opportunities for experienced sector professionals who want to be part of an organisation that is making a real difference. Join our action to end poverty now and be part of something truly amazing.
Working closely alongside colleagues across the organisation, you will build and strengthen ActionAid UK’s financial information management systems enhancing senior managers’ understanding of organisational performance and informing key decisions.
You will need to understand the different requirements of internal and external stakeholders and design agile systems that can accommodate their often competing demands.
Understanding the needs and perspectives of budget holders, you will continue to build our ‘self- service’ systems to provide them with the information they need, when they need it.
You will be an experienced trainer, as core to the success of this role will be the building of the capacity of this group, enabling them to deliver their financial management responsibilities.
Outside of regular financial cycles, you will also support budget holders with the preparation of robust business cases and project proposals, helping to define and produce key financial performance metrics (such as ROI) and standards.
You are a qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA Accountant with significant post-qualification experience in a Management Accounting role.
Your significant experience in a similar role should mean you’re used to working with key stakeholders and delivering a customer focused service. You must be skilled at developing planning, forecasting and reporting systems.
Providing truly insightful financial analysis, you will be driven to improve the service you offer, ready to both listen and challenge colleagues.  You will be an excellent communicator, eager to share your knowledge and experience. In short, you will be as comfortable with people as you are with numbers.
Bring us all this and you can look forward to all the opportunities which are generated by our innovations and increased investment in our people.
