Rio Tinto Minerals (RTM) has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst based in Boron, California. The position is located on-site at our Boron Operations.

 

Rio Tinto Minerals operates California’s largest open pit mine and related refineries and supplies approximately 35% of the world’s demand for refined borates. 

 

The successful candidate will:

• Provide financial and business analysis to the management team.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Be responsible for the maintenance and month end closing of the plant cost ledgers.
• Report and analyze actual plant results
• Assist the management team with cost control.
• Provide significant reporting of both plant and property wide monthly reports to the Senior Leadership Team of RTM
• Liaise with the plant management team, the finance team and RTM HQ
• Participate in strategic business evaluations (CEA and NPV evaluations, Ad Hoc Projects and research).
• Assist with Business Improvement cost savings project tracking
• Analyze and maintain site Product Costing
• Provide guidance on the proper use of SAP
