Role overview
We are currently recruiting for a three-months fixed term contract in the Strategy and Programme Effectiveness Group, Programme Innovation and Development department, for the role of Programme Development Adviser, Active Citizenship. The role is offered as a 3-month period in order to complete the Active Citizenship Framework Project. The responsibilities of the role are as follows: To finalise VSO Active Citizenship Framework To identify development outcomes and impact of VSO Active Citizenship interventions To identify Active Citizenship output, outcome and impact indicators To map out VSO Active Citizenship programmes and activities To document Active Citizenship case studies to illustrate VSO programmatic approach To finalise and publish VSO Active Framework document To establish a VSO Active Citizenship Community of Practice |
Skills, qualifications and experience required
In order to be considered for this opportunity, the following are essential requirements: An in depth understanding of current issues, trends and significant players in Active Citizenship, Citizen Engagement and National Volunteering; Ability to think analytically including experience in producing research on social development issues; Experience of leading/managing active citizenship and citizen participation programmes and interventions in developing countries context; Southern experience of volunteering or working with national volunteers. Experience of working in a developing country; Ability to adapt communication style to different contexts and audiences including high level internal and external stakeholders, presents complex information in a user-friendly way, both verbally and in writing; Experience of team working and with the ability to build strong working relationships across a large complex global organisation and work collaboratively as a member of several teams; Commitment to VSO’s vision, purpose and values, particularly inclusion along lines of gender, disability and HIV status.
