Sandvik, a global high technology engineering Group headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden is seeking a Manager, Regional Compliance, Americas with responsibility for business compliance in the Americas , as well as for local compliance within the US and Canada. The position will be based at one of Sandvik's North American locations and will be part of the Sandvik Legal organization's Compliance Team which also includes Risk Management (RM) and Intellectual Property (IP).
The role
In this key role, the Manager, Regional Compliance, Americas will manage and supervise a team of Local Compliance Officers (LCO) representing various countries in the Americas.   In addition, the Manager, Regional Compliance, Americas will act as the LCO for US and Canada with responsibility for assessing, documenting and reporting on compliance issues within the US and Canada, by implementing global and local policies and processes, and assisting in the continuous improvement of these processes.
Key Performance Areas
  • Ensure the compliance programs established by the global program owners for trade compliance, export controls and anti-trust are implemented in the Americas and locally.
  • Develop communication and deliver training/education strategies to address identified deficiencies and to increase and maintain general awareness of compliance issues
  • Identify areas of improvement, and assist with the development of operational processes, required internal controls, policies and procedures, as required
  • Conduct service provider due diligence, recommend classification, provide recommendations on improvements, and follow up on required corrective actions
  • Maintain an accurate database of service provider evaluations in accordance with Group instructions and solutions
  • Support merger, acquisition and divestiture due diligence activities, including coordination of integration, as required
  • Conduct/coordinate regular country risk assessments and investigations as required
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Country Compliance Committee and will report to the Manager, Global Compliance Operations.
Your Profile
  • BA/BS required; MA/MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years satisfactory progression in business and process management.
  • 5-7 years' experience in risk assessments, conducting audits, compliance reviews, investigations, implementation of quality systems and processes
  • Basic understanding and ability to interpret financial statements
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer databases (e.g., MS Office) required
  • Excellent verbal written communication skills in English. Language ability in either Spanish or Portuguese is a plus

  • Up to 50% international and domestic travel required
