Role overview
| VSO is seeking a Global Security Advisor to join our People Group team to ensure that VSO is fully able to assess and manage security issues affecting employees and volunteers globally.You’ll be working alongside our Country Offices around the world – from fragile environments like South Sudan, DRC and Pakistan to some of more stable countries such as Indonesia and South Africa. You will ensure that VSO has a framework and system in place to manage security effectively, and you’ll be a crucial link in the chain of security management between our Global Leadership Team and country Offices. |
Skills, qualifications and experience required
| This is a great opportunity for a motivated and talented security professional with the ability to convert strategic thinking on security into realistic policy, guidance and implementation plans; task oriented and prepared to be pragmatic in making short-term plans. We need someone with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and issues. You will have a solid background in security management, ideally gained in working in a development or humanitarian context. Accompanying your technical skills in risk assessment and security planning, you will be providing expert security advice globally. |
