MWH International Development, based in La Hulpe, is the MWH unit that provides consulting services to international institutions, such as the European Commission (EC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the World Bank, the United Nations, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, governments and government agencies. Our services include consultancies for water and wastewater, energy and climate change projects as well as management support and monitoring and evaluation of large investment programmes. Our main geographical focus lies on Europe, Africa and other developing countries.

Your role

You’ll be in charge of the management of projects implemented in MWH various geographical areas.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of the projects: planning of the activities, mobilization of the experts, day to day follow-up of the activities both on the technical and the financial aspects;
  • Liaising with client and beneficiaries;
  • Financial monitoring and reporting of project’s activities, following MWH internal policies of project management;
  • Supervise backstopping team and activities;
  • Support business development teams for project budgeting.

Requirements

  • Academic background: Master degree in Economics, or equivalent;
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management of international donor funded projects;
  • IT-skills: fully familiar with the use of MS Office, particularly Excel;
  • Knowledge of the European Commission external assistance policies would be considered as an advantage;
  • Proven interest for the fields of international development and or environment;
  • Languages: solid written and spoken English; French is an advantage.

The job will take place in our office in La Hulpe, Belgium with a targeted start in January 2014.
