MWH International Development, based in La Hulpe, is the MWH unit that provides consulting services to international institutions, such as the European Commission (EC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the World Bank, the United Nations, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, governments and government agencies. Our services include design, procurement and construction supervision for water and wastewater, energy and climate change projects as well as management support and monitoring and evaluation of large investment programmes. Our main geographical focus lies on Europe, Africa and other developing countries.

Your role

You will be supporting the project management team in all the various tasks related to management and good execution of the projects activities and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day administrative and financial follow-up of the projects activities, management for expenditures’ approvals (preparation and submission to the client), logistical support to the organization of expert’s missions;
  • Preparation of external audits of the projects: preparation of the required documents, financial monitoring and collection of the supporting documentation, preparation of invoices, contacts with the suppliers, key experts and short-term experts.

Requirements

  • Academic background: bachelor degree (or equivalent);
  • Experience in project administration; proven track record in EU and/or International project management would be considered as an advantage;
  • IT-skills: fully familiar with the use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word;
  • Knowledge of the European Commission external assistance policies would be considered as an advantage;
  • Able to take initiative, extensive organization skills;
  • Creative, communicative, open-minded and results-oriented, with an eye for detail and numbers;
  • Languages: solid written and spoken English; French is advantageous;
  • Work ethics, dynamism and ability to cope with multiple tasks.
The job will take place in our office in La Hulpe, Belgium and will start in January 2014.
