Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, is both the forum and the voice of the European chemical industry. It aims at maintaining and developing a prosperous chemical industry in Europe by promoting the best possible economic, social and environmental conditions to bring benefits to society.
Cefic is located in Brussels, and employs more than 150 persons.
To reinforce one of its departments, Cefic is actively looking for a (M/F) Manager European Solvents Industries Associations.
In charge of managing several solvents sector groups, which constitute a whole cluster and the European Solvents Industry Group (ESIG) as umbrella association, you will:
  • Embody and actively represent the solvents´ industry in all aspects of its advocacy, communication and product stewardship activities towards regulators, downstream users, media and NGOs;
  • Develop and implement the strategy of the association, in liaison with the Board;
  • Manage the group resources (internal team members, budget).

Background and experience

  • A University degree in chemistry or business administration;
  • Min. 10 years of experience in major, multinational organisations in either – or both – chemical industry or association management with a diverse and proven track record;
  • Proven successful experience in advocacy, communication, public relations, marketing or sales; experience within the solvent or related industries is a plus.

Skills and competencies

  • Multilingual skills, with fluency (both in writing and in speaking) in English and at least one other major European language;
  • Excellent oral and written communication;
  • Strong advocacy skills;
  • Good project management and computer skills;
  • Excellent people management, networking and negotiation skills;
  • Proactive team player with strong service focus.
