Electrical Engineer
Location: Bangalore, India
The Role
The purpose of the job is to create CAD models/ manufacturing drawings, BOM for sub-systems used in mining equipments and to ensure the quality of drawings produced by Design Engineers. The job is about providing engineering support to various PDCs within Sandvik Mining in Current Product Engineering, New product Development Engineering and Order based Engineering activities.
Key Performance Areas:
    1. Will perform Harness Design related activities which include Routing Design & Schematics Creation for Electrical Systems.
    2. Will perform harnesses routing quality checks on complex components & assemblies Virtual Domain.
    3. Make technical judgment on the harnesses paths & optimize the harness layouts on the machines.
    4. Will be responsible for resolving Quality concerns & performing root cause analysis for all design related errors & ensure compliance to countermeasures.
    5. Will make Electrical schematics & Integrator topologies in E3 cable module for machines.
    6. Will make best judgment of selection of Electrical Devices e.g. Wires, Fuses, sensors, Relays, Circuit breakers, Electrical Protections.
    7. Will assist unit in re-designing the process for Wiring Harness design release through E3 cable module.
    8. Will perform FMEA on electrical design & suggest possible changes.
    9. Will be able to create BOM structure for entire electrical design in E3 and successfully transfer them to Teamcenter.
    Your Profile:
    • B.Tech / M.Tech in electrical engineering
    • 4-5 years of Experience
    Key Required Competencies:
      1. This position requires an extensive experience in field of Harnesses Design & Development
      2. Very good understanding of IEC standard and Electrical schematics of Mining/Earth Moving Equipment.
      3. Extensive hands on experience for maintenance of Library of Electrical components in E3
      4. Must be aware of load calculations & fuse selections basics.
      5. Exposure to Electrical components selection criteria & exposure to Design of Electrical sub-systems.
      6. Should have exposure on Harness fitment trials on the actual vehicles.
      7. This position requires an experienced person who has around 3~5 years of relevant experience.
      8. Design skills in E3 cable and panel module and good Knowledge of E3.
      9. Should have some experience in E3 / Teamcenter integrated environment.
      10. Should have exposure of working on routing design for harness modeling & schematics creation
      11. Experience within mining industry / mobile machinery is seen as a benefit.
      12. Needs to understand the functionalities between the electrical and hydraulics components / systems.
      13. Good communication skill & Interpersonal Skills.
      14. Good ability to work within the team.
