EXPECTED OUTCOMES
1.Prepare the Chapter on Logistics for the Habitat III Operational Manual is finalized (3 months);
2.Build the database of applicants for Side Events, Parallel Events, and Exhibitions after reviewing proposals and finalizing with the Coordinator the selection processes (1 months).

- Obtain quotes and make travel arrangements for the Habitat III Secretariat staff, meeting participants, in particular LDC representatives (1 month);
4.Provide logistical management during the meeting (meeting rooms allocated and booked, on-site registration of participants done, refreshments ordered, etc) (1 month)
5.Research and compile background documents, talking points and final declarations to be delivered during the meeting (1 month);

Duties and Responsibilities



The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-HABITAT, is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. The vacancy is located in Habitat III Secretariat. Under the overall guidance of the Habitat III Secretariat coordinator, the consultant will perform the following tasks:
- Provides full range of implementation assistance for development of the Habitat III operations manual for the Regional Meeting, prior to commencement of the Meeting;
- Share online via relevant professional platforms Call for Proposals for Side Events, Parallel Events, Exhibitions, etc.;
- Manage overall logistics to organize the Meeting at the venue with respective municipality and key local stakeholders such as Non-Government Organizations, private sector, academia, and civil society;
- Support drafting of the final report of the Meeting, including summary of statements, Side and Parallel Events reports, summary of Plenary Sessions, etc.;
- Perform other duties as requested by the coordinator.
Qualifications/special skills



Academic Qualifications: A university degree in business administration, management, public information or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in events management, public relations, administrative management at the national or international level, preferably for the United Nations system and regional or global conferences.
Language: English and French are the official working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, the consultant must have excellent written and oral skills in English and the language of the duty station.
