Communications Specialist
The International Fertilizer Association (IFA) – www.fertilizer.org - is the only global fertilizer trade association with a membership of more than 500 entities, encompassing all actors in the fertilizer value chain: producers, traders, distributors, service providers, advisors, research organizations and NGOs. IFA promotes the industry’s engagement in sustainable agricultural practices and the efficient and responsible production, distribution and use of plant nutrients to advance global food security and sustainable development goals.
IFA’s communications embrace a large variety of topics related to engagement and partnerships in developing countries, environmental protection, food & nutrition, climate change etc. The successful candidate for this newly created position is first and foremost a creative writer (excellent English writing skills are a MUST), who enjoys developing and tailoring communications campaigns to a highly diversified global audience.
The position, based in Paris, offers a lot of room for creativity and autonomy.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with the Communications & Public Affairs director to craft messages, conceive a variety of outlets and tools, produce, write and direct content and develop comprehensive, large ranging, communications campaigns
- Developing and overseeing IFA’s international newsletters and news forums
- Storytelling for topic campaigns
- Developing strategies to promote and drive traffic to IFA’s announcement
- Watching trends in digital communications, identifying opportunities for new on-line tools; implementing and managing digital platform
- Contributing to promoting IFA’s various member services with innovative promotional strategies: content development for info-sheets; web-alerts; video stories etc.
Competencies:
- English native language proficiency and excellent English writing skills are mandatory
- Creative and strategic thinking and writing abilities
- Knowledge of basic html, editing software and lay-out
- Familiarity with digital tools and social media
- Strong ability to work autonomously
- 2 years of relevant experience in similar positions in communications, press / public relations or corporate communications
- Business communicators or previous experience in communications agencies are welcome: Previous experience with multilateral, international organizations or NGOs is not mandatory.
