The Inland Revenue Division of the Solomon Islands Government (SI IRD) is part of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury (MOFT). The Division is headed by the Commissioner supported by the Deputy Commissioner and the Executive team of four Assistant Deputy Commissioners. SI IRD receives support from the New Zealand government in order to improve the protection of the revenue base for Solomon Islands.
The key functions of the Lead Adviser role are: to mentor a Solomon Islands government official in the role of Commissioner for Inland Revenue; improve capacity within SI IRD in the areas of strategy, structure, systems, processes, skills and culture; and, lead implementation of the New Zealand Support to Inland Revenue Division Programme.
To be successful in this position, you must have good general tax knowledge particularly in developing and implementing administrative policy with demonstrable competence in Tax Technical activities undertaken to date. You must possess experience applying the concepts of tax law, including the ability to quickly acquire an understanding of the relevant Solomon Islands laws, policies and procedures.
