Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health, tenable at Central Medical Stores (CMS). A talented, self-driven and visionary individual is therefore sought to lead and direct the operations of Central Medical Sores, the government's procurement and distribution service provider for all health sector commodities.



SALARY: BENEFITS:


E2 (P278,028 - P289,260) per annum

(i) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% Employee 50%)

(ii) Contributory Pension (Government contributes 15% and employee contributes 5% of salary)

30 working days per annum.



Bachelor's Degree in Business Management / Supply Chain Management / Operations Management or a similar related filed complemented by 12 years relevant post qualification experience working at senior management level in a government or parastatal organization

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To direct and monitor the procurement and distribution of quality drugs and medical supplies to health facilities.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Promotes CMS operation products and service delivery to stakeholders.

2. Gives advice to the Director and the Permanent Secretary on the availability, procurement and distribution of drugs and other medical commodities to health facilities.

3. Advices on the Development and reviews of policies, guidelines and drug management strategies.

4. Monitors the availability of drugs and commodities to ensure that targets are met as set out by the Ministry of Health achieve the goals of the Ministry.

5. Identifies and manages the implementation of suitable technical projects in the pursuit of improving the performance of CMS and the national supply chain for health commodities.

6. Provides leadership in the ensuring that drug distribution and dispatch is done effectively for smooth delivery of stock.

7. Monitors quality control and verification for procurement and inspection.

8. Develops and monitors the implementation of strategic plan and sets the direction for CMS

9. Monitors and manages CMS annual budget for efficient and effective procurement of drugs and health commodities in health facilities.

10. Utilizes appropriate performance management systems and tools to ensure steady improvement of CMS.
