The Financial and Private Sector Development (FPD) Network has launched the FPD Global Practices (GP) program, an initiative that aims to significantly improve client impact and knowledge connectivity across the entire FPD agenda. Within this new model, a global practice on Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (ITE) has been created to integrate and expand the Bank’s knowledge in this area and to respond more effectively to the increasing demands of client countries.

A Service Line Manager (SLM) has been appointed as of July 1, 2011 to lead global public goods programs in the ITE area and to manage a team of experts who provide global knowledge and best practice in the design and structuring of policies and operations to foster ITE. S/he also provides leadership in building, organizing and coordinating a flexible and creative technical community of experts, with affiliation from FPD and beyond — in collaboration with the ITE Practice Manager.

The Economist/Private Sector Specialist will report directly to the Service Line Manager of the Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship practice and will support him/her in the delivery of the technical and operational program – including a substantial amount of cross-support to regional operations (between 30% to 50%).
