We are seeking to appoint an economic geographer with commitment to excellence in research and teaching. We would especially welcome applicants with research interests in one or more of the following specialisms: geographies of retail, production and supply networks, globalisation and development, urban and regional economics, clusters, creativity and innovation.

The post-holder will join the Economy, Society and Space research group within Geography and Environment, in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences. This represents one of the strongest groups of economic and social geographers in the UK. The research group has several research foci including: retail globalisation, competition and regulation; development geography and production governance; food, environment and nature; commodity cultures and ethical consumption; social enterprise and knowledge clusters.

The post is available at any level up to a Readership.

Geography and the Environment is keen to attract applicants who have an excellent track record in research and who have published in leading geographical journals. Applicants who have recently completed a PhD and who have shown outstanding research potential are also welcome.

The post-holder will be expected to supervise postgraduate research students and contribute to human geography teaching at undergraduate level.
