AFRICA PROGRAMME MANAGER
(LONDON, PERMANENT ROLE)

We seek energetic and innovative thinkers on private sector development with experience in two or more of the following: sector development including value chains; development economics; financial sector development; and agribusiness or agricultural development. Ultimately the role will have some flexibility and be shaped by the strengths of the person appointed. This job is an exciting opportunity for high flyers at a mid-point in their career, with 3-7 years relevant experience, including work in Africa.

Candidates will be strategic thinkers with sound judgement, private sector DNA and the ability to rapidly understand new industries/sectors or companies. They will have a demonstrable commitment to African development, strong understanding of the development landscape, and be willing to travel. They should be attracted to working in a dynamic, non-bureaucratic environment. Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills are essential, along with an ability to engage at senior level with Government and the private sector. They will be self-starters with the ability to initiate and manage programmes to deadlines, bring in leading experts, and develop partnerships where necessary.
