A fast paced global newswire is seeking an intellectual property reporter to monitor and report on high profile cases and policy developments in the sector.
This role would suit a regulatory reporter or a person with a background in intellectual property. We are looking for someone with sound knowledge of sector regulatory processes and legal mechanisms used by companies involved in patent disputes. The right candidate will be able to grasp complex concepts quickly, have an excellent eye for detail, be a persistent reporter and be a fast accurate writer. The person will be expected to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how policy developments may influence business and have an established network in Brussels. The candidate will also be a team player as the position entails regular liaising with other journalists around the globe.
This role will be based in Brussels and/or London. Candidates with excellent CVs will be considered from any geographic location. The right candidate will have an opportunity to travel to international conferences, and work with our teams in Brussels, London, Hong Kong, Washington and Shanghai.
This role will involve:
  • Breaking news on high profile intellectual property cases, including antitrust cases of alleged strategic use of IP rights to exclude competitors
  • Writing detailed analysis of regulatory processes in the sector to keep readers abreast of legislative threats and opportunities
  • Developing policy intelligence tailor-made for readers with particular interest in the IP
