Outreach and Web Content Coordinator United Nations University
Under the direct supervision of Director of the United Nations University Institute for Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP), the Outreach and Web Content Coordinator would be expected to carry out the following tasks:
* Manage the UNU-ISP website (both in English and Japanese) in coordination with academic personnel, and update the website information on a regular basis.
* Support the UNU-ISP postgraduate programmes, intensive courses, training and other capacity development activities by preparing and disseminating related information and application procedures in a timely manner.
* Engage in UNU-ISP outreach activities and assist in enhancing the visibility of UNU-ISP at various symposia, conferences, book launches etc.
* Assist in preparing visual materials, PowerPoint presentations, book covers, conference reports and posters.
* Collaborate with the Global Environmental Outreach Centre (GEOC), Media Centre, and UNU Campus Computing Centre (C3) for IT support.
* Perform other general outreach and web-related duties, as assigned by the Director.
Required Qualifications:
* A diploma or advanced diploma in computer science, communication or related fields.
* At least three years of experience in web design or management of web content, and outreach activities.
* Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Japanese languages and suitable design skills.
* Familiarity with social networking services such as Facebook, Twitter and Wikepedia.
* Familiarity with current issues on environment science, development and peace studies.
* A good team player with strong inter-personal skills, demonstrated by the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
* Work experience in an academic or research international institution is an asset.
