Publications and Online Manager World Steel Association

The World Steel Association (worldsteel) represents approximately 170 steel producers, national and regional steel industry associations, and steel research institutes.

Worldsteel is hiring a Publications and Online Manager to join our Communications team. The position reports to the Communications Director.

The job

As the successful candidate you are responsible for the content, design and production of the worldsteel website and publications.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • coordinate the production of print publications – including picture research and editing – sometimes working with external suppliers for copywriting, design and print production;
  • provide editorial support on press releases, speeches, presentations and other major external communications materials;
  • manage worldsteel.org including order fulfilment from the online Bookshop;
  • maintain the worldsteel Flickr account, making sure the photos are up to date and correctly filed and captioned;
  • produce videos for publication online (on worldsteel.org, YouTube, Tudou);
  • supervise the publication of Chinese translations of pages on worldsteel.org;
  • support worldsteel’s Media Relations Manager in the use of social media tools.

The Communications team acts as a centre for enquiries from the media and member companies and all members of the team are fully involved in this service.

This is a full-time position based in Brussels. Business travel is occassionally required.

Your qualifications

  • You must have excellent English editing skills. All materials are written in British English. Knowledge of Chinese would be useful;
  • Good knowledge of Adobe’s Creative Suite is required, especially Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat. You must be familiar with web content management systems, preparing documents for offset printing and overseeing the production of short videos;
  • Experience in the steel industry is an advantage. Experience with other materials would be interesting.
