The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is the independent statutory authority responsible for the regulation of agricultural and veterinary chemicals in Australia, up to the point of retail sale to protect human and animal health, the environment and trade. About the position

The Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is calling for applications to fill the vacancy of the CEO of the APVMA, as the five-year term of the current CEO expires on 31 December 2012.

The CEO is a full-time position responsible for managing the affairs of the APVMA and providing leadership and direction so that it efficiently and effectively meets its statutory obligations in the registration and regulation of agricultural and veterinary chemicals in Australia.

The CEO will be appointed for a term of up to five years from 1 January 2013.The position is based in Canberra. The total remuneration of the CEO position is A$320,700 as determined by the Remuneration Tribunal.
