EU Affairs Manager for EHS and Standards Policy
for leading high-tech Association in Brussels
(starting date: by 1 July 2012)
TechAmerica Europe represents leading European high-tech operations with US parentage.
Collectively we invest Euro 100bn in Europe and employ approximately 500,000 Europeans.
TechAmerica Europe is recruiting a Manager for EU EHS and Standards policy with special focus on:
  • RoHS(e.g. FAQ with a focus on large scale industrial tools, cables, R&D and consumables)
  • WEEE and chemicals(e.g. input for WEEE FAQ to be submitted by August 2012; upcoming review of REACH Regulation).
  • EMC and LVD directives’ alignment to NLF(e.g. 1st reading of the ‘Goods Package’)
The candidate will primarily have the following responsibilities:
  • facilitate technical discussion amongst Member companies and organise Working Group meetings and external advocacy
  • formulate timely, technical and concise contributions to EU decision-makers
  • undertake research and provide information support to Members
Important Qualities:
  • diligence, integrity, pro-activeness and an outgoing/positive nature
  • strong knowledge of EU policy making
  • knowledge/experience of one or all of the EHS/ S&C policy areas
  • fluent English plus another EU language
  • at least two years experience in private, public or NGO sector
  • university degree in EU law or political science
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
