The GAVI Alliance is seeking a dynamic and seasoned Director of Media & Communications. Reporting to the Managing Director, External Relations and working closely with the CEO and GAVI Board Chair, the Director MI design and lead the implementation of a new communications strategy to dramatically increase GAVI's visibility and influence and help achieve its strategic goals.
Your main function will be as the chief communications officer and strategist, and key spokesperson. You will oversee a team responsible for corporate messaging and branding, media and donor communications, partnerships and campaigns, publications and e-communicationsIncludIng social media, all of which will effectively align with GAVI's fund raising, advocacy and programmatic activities.
You should have an advanced university degree in media and communications, or a related field, and a minimum of 15 years increasing responsibility In corporate communications, marketing or public relations as well as tested reputational risk management experience.
Most importantly, you are able to translate a vision into action through exceptional managerial skills that stimulate creativity, new thinking and collaboration in a fast-paced and politically-sensitive environment. Solid writing and editing skills and a steady focus on ensuring quality a must. Global health and advocacy and public affairs/campaigning experience preferred.
