We are seeking a dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Risk Officer to join the Finance and Administration Department so as to work at Uchumi Commercial Bank Limited to achieve and surpass safety and quality objectives to the reward of both the individual and UCBL

Reporting to the General Manager, duties will Include:
Coordinating development and review of policies of the bank to ensure that they adequately address the Bank's exposure to the risk for approval by the Board
Develop risk alerts and for risk identification inherent in all the business units of the bank
Monitoring market, economic and financial trends both within and outside the bank and their impact and advice management on how to minimize exposure
Coordinating development of risk monitoring and control measures in all business units of the bank
Setting the bank's risk tolerance limits for management consideration and approval; and periodic review of the same. Carrying out analysis of the risks associated with new products, processes and systems to determine the bank's ability to manage those risks before venturing into it and provide guidance on what to be done in minimizing exposure
Preparing periodical reports to guide and assist management in understanding the bank's level of exposure to risks for proper and strategic mitigating interventions
Carrying out research and due diligence analysis of other banks and financial institutions' risk management issues to ensure that the bank is not left behind by other peers Conducting periodic reviews to assess compliance with bank's policies, procedures and tolerance limits by all departments and report the same to the General Manager for action Creating awareness to all staff in the bank on risk management practices.
Perform any other duties related to Banking Operations that may be assigned by the General Manager
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have
Degree or Advanced Diploma in Finance, Banking or Accounting with relevant professional training in Risk management
3 years working experience in Banking Operations. Decisiveness, Resilience and Resourcefulness
Performance orientation and strong problem solving
Good communication and high level of interpersonal skills.
Strong commercial acumen
