Corporate Accessories Department Quality Engineering is looking for a highly self-motivated individual that will act as a liaison between the Corporate Accessory Department at headquarters and the manufacturing plants. Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Support accessory accommodation and in-line requests at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America and Toyota Technical Center new model obeya teams.
  • Coordinate/update specification changes and accommodation costs with the Corporate Accessories Department at headquarters.
  • Support In-Line Accessory activities at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America and the Toyota Technical Center.
  • Provide technical information, participate in accessory part design reviews and serve as the liaison between the Toyota North America Manufacturing Company and Toyota Canada, Inc for accessories.
  • Provide timely and ongoing feedback to Corporate Accessories Department-Quality Engineering for each project.
  • Assignments will include but are not limited to support for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Baja California, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, and their Team members during go-see and other related activities in various field locations.
NOTE: Although this position will eventually be based at our headquarters office in Torrance, CA, the first three to four years will be an assignment at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant in San Antonio, TX.

Due to the nationwide downturn in the housing market, relocation could have a significant financial impact on you, especially if you purchased your home in the last several years. Qualifications

  • Strong management skills in sourcing appropriate support (manufacturing, design, engineering) to support development of accessories.
  • Toyota Manufacturing facility operations experience is essential
  • Ability to coordinate input from various affiliates and business partners and determine appropriate course of action
  • Ability to demonstrate managerial skills to guide, coach, counsel and provide feedback and develop staff
  • Strong interpersonal, organization, and cross-organization skills
  • Understanding of all aspects of the business, but not limited to:
    • Parts engineering and quality control
    • Toyota Production System
    • Standardized Work Procedures
    • Kaizen Activities, Ergonomics
    • Toyota Shipping Standards
  • Ability to identify problems, find solutions and make decisions with limited support and direction, and communicate effectively with both internal and external to CAD
  • Creating and maintaining a positive working relationship is critical to the success of the position.
  • Experience in creating vehicle/part milestone reports and presentation.
  • BS degree in a Technical Field with focus on Quality is preferred or equivalent working experience.
