Capacity Building and Training Associate Asian Development Bank Institute

The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) is looking for one or more Associates in the Capacity Building and Training (CBT) Department. He or she will provide research assistance and technical support for the design, organization and delivery of CBT events, and the production of presentation materials, proceedings, publications and other documentation related to the events.

Responsibilities

•Undertake research on issues related to the design and organization of the capacity building and training event/project/program, including identification of capacity building and training needs or issues (and potential targets, partners, experts/speakers) through literature survey, data collection and analysis, preparation of tables and graphs; internet and document searches;
•Assist in the preparation of concept notes and activity profiles, in accordance with ADBI's procedures and guidelines;
•Assist in the preparation of course outline or workshop agenda, course handouts, presentation materials, case studies, including group sessions;
•Assist in the preparation of course evaluation questionnaires, and the assessment of the course evaluation questionnaires;
•Assist in the preparation of executive summary and summaries of proceedings – opening and closing sessions, presentations, panel and discussion sessions, and group sessions;
•Assist in facilitating discussion at group sessions;
•Assist in the preparation of announcements or articles on the event for the ADB-ADBI website/s and ADBI Newsletter or other relevant publications;
•Assist in the preparation of course publications and other programmed course outputs;
•Assist in other ADBI activities as may be assigned by Dean, Director AMC, Director, CBT or CBT specialist(s);
•Actively contribute comments or posts to the ADBI blog on own initiative; and
•Perform other related assignments, as instructed.

Requirements

•Masters degree in economics (minimum requirement), PhD-level preferred.
•Good proficiency in written and spoken English.
•A national of an ADB member.
•Resident in Japan, already possessing valid permission to work either full- or part-time.

Associates serve for limited terms as independent contractors in a personal capacity. They are neither officers nor staff of the ADB Institute.
