Overview:
Chevron Energy Technology Company is seeking recent graduates in Petroleum Engineering to join their "Horizons" graduate development programme. Successful candidates are placed in a real job from day one as a member of a consulting team and are expected to contribute immediately, with opportunities to attend technical training and receive mentoring/coaching from a more experienced reservoir engineer. Typically a graduate Petroleum Engineer will experience 2-3 assignments during their first five years with Chevron. These assignments will be as a reservoir engineer, with emphasis on reservoir simulation tools and processes, and are designed to ensure that our graduates quickly build a strong technical competence and broad work experience to meet Chevron's business needs.
Reservoir Engineers strive to understand the dynamics of oil and gas reservoirs using a variety of analytical and numerical techniques to model the flow of fluids within the rock and well bores.

Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for these positions:

• Building and history matching reservoir simulation models, production forecasting, reserves estimation, evaluation of new wells and work-over opportunities, and pressure transient analysis.
• A close working relationship is required with geoscientists, production engineers, operations personnel and drilling engineers to ensure the uncertainties and interactions of any project are captured in the production forecasts and project economics.
• Focus on developing technical skills and enhancing contribution to the team’s technical skill set.


Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Students anticipating receiving their PhD in Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent) within the next 12 months and working professionals with less than 2 years experience since receiving their degree.
• Strong academic performance in core programmes, communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills are of extreme importance.
• Demonstrable analytical and problem solving capability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Mobility is encouraged as there are many opportunities for Chevron engineers to work in a variety of assignments at different locations, both domestic and international.
