Objective of the programme:

The programme seeks to enhance a professional, accessible and impartial Lesotho justice sector, which will ensure fair, timely and efficient delivery of justice and effectively combat corruption. Day-to-day implementation of the programme will be managed by a Technical Cooperation Unit within the Office of the Chief Justice during the period December 2012 to March 2015.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Advanced university degree in computer science or similar.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English;
  • Proficiency in Sotho would be an asset;
  • Proven computer proficiencies;
  • Excellent analytical competence and interview skills;
  • Active listening skills and strong report writing skills;

General professional experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working on significant IT system projects including case management within the justice sector;
  • Experience of working with law enforcement agencies and courts;

Specific professional experience:

  • Relevant working experience in legal advice projects, preferably EC funded;
  • Experience of developing case management and case processing policies and procedures for handling criminal and civil cases;
  • Experience of developing specialized professional training and mentoring programmes in the use of new IT systems;
  • Experience of various database systems and document management best ptractice
  • Recent Experience in working within Lesotho or the region.
