Function :

Contributing to the fulfillment of the ITUC’s mandate on human and trade union rights by:

supporting and/or co-coordinating country and thematic campaigns in an organizing context; handling correspondence with affiliated and regional organizations and lobbying activities with GUF’s and other partners; carrying out research, drafting and/or editing of reports; using international legal procedures or instruments protecting rights, in particular those of the ILO and other relevant international bodies; using and maintaining IT applications used in the department and/or functions as determined by the organisation and the HTUR Director.

Qualifications required:

Commitment to and proven experience, involvement or interest in trade union and human rights issues; appropriate academic qualifications or equivalent training and experience; strong writing skills, including aptitude for succinct reporting and drafting; proven oral and written command of English and French; additional language skills (Spanish, German, Arabic) will be an asset; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; commitment to team-work; ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and to deal with work of an emergency nature; sensitivity to cultural diversity and gender issues; appropriate IT skills
