Internship, Great Decisions in Foreign Policy on PBS

The FPA seeks a motivated, media savvy intern to assist with the production of the organization's flagship television series, Great Decisions in Foreign Policy on PBS.

The internship, which lasts from late August through the end of 2012 (with the possibility of extension) comes with a small monthly stipend.

Duties include:

  • Assisting the producers with guest booking in New York City and Washington D.C.
  • Transcription of interviews with leading experts on the eight topics covered in the series
  • Assisting with research related to the eight topics covered in the series
  • Working as a production assisting during interviews conducted by the producers in New York City and Washington D.C.
  • Assisting with social media coverage of the series of FPA platforms


Qualifications


Previous experience with television production is preferred, though other media experience could also qualify the right candidate. Required qualifications include:

  • Above average organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Exceptional research, writing and editorial skills
  • Deep knowledge of global affairs and U.S. foreign policy
  • Familiarity with experts, journalists and pundits on foreign policy matters
  • Understanding of media production work flows
  • Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines
  • Professional attitude and ability to commit fully to a four month internship
