LE IV Security Officer British Embassy Brussels, Belgium

Main Duties:

  • Access control, standing guard outside our buildings;
  • Security rounds in and outside of the premises and supervision of workmen;
  • Mail scanning and distribution;
  • Security checks of visitors to both the Embassy and the Consulate General section;
  • Monitoring of CCTV and dealing with alarms;
  • Prepared to deal with incidents, possible intruders and demonstrators.

Skills Required

Essential:

  • Good spoken and written English;
  • Good verbal communication;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and flexibly with others;
  • Proven ability to understand customer's needs;
  • Ability to undertake security duties, including sitting/standing for prolonged periods inside/outside the premises.

Desirable:

  • Ability to communicate verbally in French and/or Dutch;
  • A background of working in security.

The successful applicant would work on a shift system between the core hours of 06:30 and 22:00, Monday to Friday. There may also be a requirement to work outside of these hours and days on occasion.

This position will be filled on a fixed term contract.

Taxable Gross monthly salary: € 2187.35
