The NHLS is recruiting for the following position:
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS, RESEARCH AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
GRANT DEPARTMENT
GRANTS MANAGER
SALARY: R458 745-R597 515 PER ANNUM (PAYZONE D3)
(REF. AAQRA0712/002-01/EX)

The successful candidate will direct and manage the Grant Administration Department, as well as provide support with and facilitate the administration of NHLS’ research grants.

Key job responsibilities: • Implement and communicate all NHLS grant policies, systems, procedures and internal controls to ensure smooth operation of the grant business unit and compliance with audit requirements • Coordinate the development and implementation of the grant business plan and budgets • Monitor, control and correlate financial performance of the Department against the budget • Oversee financial and human resources, procurement and project management of grants in accordance with NHLS rules and policies • Contribute, as a member of a Senior Management team responsible for strategic planning of the Grants Department • Conduct operational planning for the Department • Liaise with Grantors and Grantees and manage client relationships • Ensure that the desired image of the organisation is maintained and achieved to the highest level of customer service • Oversee the management of grant-related procurement • Ensure that Programme Managers liaise with Principal Investigators as per the approved budget • Oversee and contribute to proposal writing and review in the Grants Department • Interact with business and identify business requirements and sketching requirements related to grant funding.
