Nkomati Mine SECTION ENGINEER

Nkomati Mine, a joint venture between African Rainbow Minerals and Norilsk Nickel Africa is an open-pit and Underground Base Metal and Chrome operation. The Mine is currently exploiting a disseminated nickel, copper and platinum group metal deposit associated with a satellite intrusion of the Bushveld Igneous Complex.

Department: Ore Production Underground

Although not limited to, the incumbent will report to the Manager: OPUG and the main responsibilities will include: • Ensuring legal compliance • Ensuring maintenance to standards • Ensuring the operational movement of men, material and ore • Ensuring construction to standards • Providing technical advice to the Production Department • Safe and optimal maintenance and operation of machinery and equipment to required standards
• Providing subordinate support to the Section Engineering Manager • Ensuring the business plan is achieved • Ensuring the logistics process remains fully operational • Employee effectiveness.

Requirements: • Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering • Government Certificate of Competency - Mines and Works (Electrical or Mechanical) • 5 years’ experience with 2.13.1/2.13.3.1 legal appointment • 2 years’ experience as a Shaft Engineer • Experience in trackless mining mobile machinery would be advantageous.
