Fitter and Turner
Impala - Rustenburg

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• An N3 - Mechanical (Trade Theory, Maths, Science, Technical Drawing)
• Trade Certificate: Mechanical
• 3-5 years’ working experience as a Fitter. Winder experience would be advantageous
• Exposure to shaft loading boxes
• A valid medical certificate or medical fitness to obtain such a certificate

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Designing basic mechanical components
• Diagnosing and repairing faults on equipment and machinery during production
• Performing routine maintenance on pipes and lubricating system
• Maintaining, repairing, changing and setting tooling
• Writing technical reports
• Developing new tooling or modifying existing tooling when required
• Conducting on-the-job coaching.


Rigger and Ropesman
Impala - Rustenburg

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Be a qualified Rigger with an N2 Certificate, including valid Trade Certificate: Rigger & Ropesman
• A valid Medical Certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate
• At least 3-5 years’ experience as a Rigger and Ropesman.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing pre-engineering studies in order to undertake rigging activities
• Planning, organising and controlling the erection, alteration and dismantling of load-bearing scaffolding
• Determining lifting, moving and rigging requirements
• Inspecting rigging equipment for any defects before using it for rigging purposes
• Slinging complex loads and communicating during crane operations
• Preparing conveyances for shaft examination and repairs
• Replacing conveyances in shafts
• Transporting material and equipment in shaft barrels
• Conducting on-the-job coaching.


Electrician

• Qualification as an Electrician
• An N3 – Electrical (Trade Theory, Maths and Science)
• A valid trade certificate
• Conveyor experience
• A valid medical certificate or medical fitness to obtain such a certificate

• Maintaining the fire prevention (Fogteq) system
• Identifying, inspecting and cleaning electrical machines
• Installing and commissioning electrical measuring instruments and control devices
• Inspecting electrical main substations
• Undertaking planned electrical maintenance
• Repairing and maintaining electric power tools
• Maintaining electrical conveyor safety systems
• Writing technical reports
• Conducting on-the-job coaching
• Attending to callouts with regard to electrical breakdowns


Boilermaker

• Qualified Boilermaker with N2 Certificate in Boilermaking/Plating supported by a valid trade certificate
• Valid medical certificate or must be medically fit to obtain such a certificate
• At least 3 years’ working knowledge as an underground Boilermaker.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Fabricating from complex drawings and marking off basic regular engineering shapes
• Cutting, drilling and punching, assembling and mechanically joining structural steelwork
• Assembling and mechanically joining sheets, plates, tubes, pipes and steel sections
• Performing heat treatment processes on engineering metals
• Testing the physical properties of engineering metals
• Maintaining belt conveyor components
• Operating cranes, lifting and moving material and equipment by means of a forklift
• Writing technical reports
• Conducting on-the-job coaching

Code 11 Driver

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
• Grade 10 (NQF level 2) certificate is essential
• Valid Code EC driver’s licence with PRDP (essential)
• Must be self-driven and highly motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with people of all cultures
• Working knowledge of the Road Traffic Act (advantage)
• Working experience as a bus or heavy vehicle driver (advantage)
• Valid Medical Certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate.


The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Operating and controlling vehicle functions
• Conducting pre-use inspections on the vehicle
• Reporting to the Supervisor on roadworthiness of vehicles
• Operating vehicles in accordance with company policy and the Road Traffic Act

• Ensuring operational efficiency of the material handling section
• Working shifts

Shift Supervisor: Mining

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent plus a valid Blasting Certificate
• Valid Production Supervisor Certificate of Competence
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Production Shift Supervisor
• Technical working knowledge with regard to stoping, development, survey, equipping, explosives and safety
policies, procedures and regulations
• Knowledge with regard to mine standards best practices, risk management and operational business objectives
• Valid Code EB driver’s licence
• Valid Medical Fitness Certificate or able to obtain such a certificate


The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Achieving daily and monthly targets
• Monthly and daily planning
• Ensuring that HSE standards and legal requirements are adhered to
• Up-and downwards communication
• Coordinating, monitoring, coaching, and developing his/her team/crew.
