Programme Officer

£28,000 – 30,000 pa • Bristol • 35 hours per week • Pension

We are looking to appoint a creative and adaptable individual who enjoys a challenge. Working as a deputy to the Programme Director you will support the development of our programme, build strategic partnerships, pursue institutional funding opportunities, manage contracts and coordinate learning.
You will have a strong understanding of environment and development issues along with demonstrated experience of project management and implementation in developing countries. With good analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to use your understanding of the policy environment in development, you will develop effective relationships with funding bodies, development agencies and research institutions. You should combine an ability to produce clear, concise written presentations and reports with effective work planning skills and a capacity to manage, monitor and evaluate budgets.
You will be educated to degree level with a good working knowledge of French.
Key objectives include building relationships with strategic partners and developing collaborative projects; securing project funding from institutional donors, including identifying emerging opportunities; servicing and supporting institutional donors’ information and reporting needs; and supporting monitoring, evaluation and learning systems to best share the impact of TREE AID’s work widely.

This will be carried out through our programme, which combines natural resource management, support for tree-based enterprises, forest governance and food and nutritional security.
