Public internal and external audit consultants Bosnia and Herzegovina
Chemonics seeks public internal and external audit consultants for the USAID-funded Partnership for Advancing Reforms in the Economy Program (PARE) in Bosnia. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing completed performance and/or financial audit reports and actions taken based on reports
- Completing case studies to determine whether (1) action items from respective audit reports were addressed, (2) stakeholders were held accountable, and (3) legislators/policy makers utilized reports to introduce reforms; and providing recommendations based on case studies to improve accountability and use of reports
- Training parliamentarians, media, and civil society representatives on the purpose of performance audit and how to effectively communicate performance audit report findings
- Reviewing state- and entity-level Supreme Audit Institutions' (SAIs) policies regarding prevention of corruption, fraud (including IT fraud), and providing recommendations and capacity building for improvement
- Facilitating introduction of appropriate international standards and guidelines for performance auditing
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
- Experience working on donor-funded programs and identifying synergies with other donors' activities
- Experience training national and local government stakeholders, media, and civil society on the role and nature of performance audit, public accountability, and transparency
- Experience reviewing the systems used by internal and external stakeholders for reviewing and implementing audit report findings
- U.S. Government Office of Accountability (GOA) or equivalent experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English required
