Resident Scholar, International Economics -- Carnegie-Tsinghua Center

The Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy, based in Beijing, is seeking a full-time Resident Scholar with experience in international economics, finance, trade, and policy development in China and Asia. The scholar will be expected to organize periodic events and to produce written products on behalf of the Center. Ideal candidates will have a substantial record of policy-relevant research, writing and engagement. Candidates with experience in China and Asia focusing on international finance, international economics, trade research and policy development, or a combination of the three are encouraged to apply. Position requires post-educational work experience; and fluency in Mandarin Chinese (native level) and fluency in English. Ph.D. or equivalent degree preferred.


The Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy is part of the network of global centers of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Based at Tsinghua University in Beijing, the Center was established in April 2010 through a cooperative agreement between the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and Tsinghua University School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The International Economics program brings together Chinese and international scholars to shed light on how current international economic policies and conditions affect the global economic order with a particular emphasis on the role played by China and other emerging economies (including the BRICS) in the international financial system.
