Brief description: DFID has current, or anticipated, health adviser vacancies, with an immediate vacancy in Bangladesh, and other posts likely in the near future. We are looking to recruit to meet immediate needs and to create a pool of applicants who we can call upon without further interview in the event of other posts arising over the coming year.
DFID Health Advisers are responsible for developing and managing health programmes and leading on DFID’s engagement with national, regional and international health policy development in a number of countries and from headquarters level. Most health advisers draw up public health or health planning and policy experience and experience working in developing countries in order to engage directly with governments or Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) to support national and international efforts to improve health and tackle the broader determinants of health.

We are looking to recruit to meet immediate needs and to create a pool of applicants who we can call upon without further interview in the event of other posts arising over the coming year. For any UK based posts, we are looking for individuals who are able to live and work in our office in East Kilbride, near Glasgow, Scotland.
Relocation support may be available where successful candidates are required to move home to take up post.
