Africare Social Media and Online Marketing Intern , Washington D.C

DESCRIPTION: Africare is looking for a Social Media and Online Marketing Intern to support our Communications and Development teams with online marketing and in-house marketing initiatives. Academic credit is available for this internship experience.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintaining and updating content on the website, and monitoring web traffic. • Assisting with the performance reporting of online marketing campaigns. • Researching online marketing opportunities on social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube for the Communications and Development departments. • Interacting with our online community including responding to emails, blogs, comments, and more.
• Assisting the Communications team in the organization of media assets including photos and videos.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience working in an office environment with demonstrated creativity and flexibility. • Impeccable online researching and organizational skills. • Interest in Africare’s mission and international issues. • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. • Willingness to learn new things and the ability to work well with others. • Well-versed in, Internet search and social media sites. • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and basic HTML code.

Compensation: Internships at Africare are currently unpaid; however, academic credit is available.
