The Position:

We are looking for a proactive and passionate Development Manager - Partnerships who will identify, develop and manage Samasource’s relationships with potential and current donors throughout the United States and support our donor-side marketing and communications, pipeline, and cultivation events.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in donor cultivation or account management and be comfortable and adept at building long-term relationships and managing those relationships. Working from our San Francisco office and reporting to the Director of Partnerships, you will be an integral part of our development team, responsible for many aspects of communications with donors.

Responsibilities:

•Support the Director of Partnerships in managing a portfolio of 100+ major donors capable of making gift at the $50,000 to $100,000+ level
•Manage relationships with donors capable of making gifts at the $5,000-$50,000 level.
•Support and facilitate long-term strategies to identify, cultivate and steward our donor’s commitment to Samasource’s mission of delivering dignified work to people living in poverty
•Build long-term relationships with donors; leveraging existing network of donors and technology leads
•Collaborate with the Director of Partnerships and CEO to identify new philanthropists and major donors
•Provide background information and identify methods of engagement of individual and corporate donor prospects
•Assist with executing our Give Work Gala and other donor cultivation and stewardship events
•Create content for our website (including blogs, newsletters, worker stories, press releases, and collateral)
•Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

•BA/BS from a top-tier university
•3+ years in a competitive sales environment or raising money for early stage non-profits, causes, or political campaigns or account management at a top-tier organization
•Demonstrated track record of identifying prospects, cultivation, closing, and relationship management
•Superlative interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills (emphasis on on written and content generation)
•Strong analytical skills
•At home in a fast-paced environment with a high level of ambiguity
•Tech-savvy and an avid user of social media
•Experience using Salesforce or other donor CRM tools
•Familiarity with Keynote and Pages for Mac and/or Powerpoint
•A desire to change the world
•Outgoing personality and great sense of humor
•Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
