POSITION: Infectious Disease (ID) Coordinator

LOCATION: The position is based in Mae Sot, Thailand

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to: Program Director Direct Reports: none

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday with some Saturday availability

COMPENSATION: Initial salary will be based on experience and skill level, increasing over time commensurate with performance. GHAP has an egalitarian salary structure between local and expatriate staff. The position includes 3 weeks per year of paid vacation leave and visa costs will also be covered. Other benefits discussed with applicants who are shortlisted for the position.

LENGTH OF TERM: Minimum two year commitment

POSITION SUMMARY: The Coordinator of Infectious Disease works directly with GHAP’s community-based organization partners to build their capacity to implement and monitor quality infectious disease programs. GHAP’s capacity-building model includes a blend of focused one-on-one assistance in formal and informal settings and group trainings using more formalized curricula to augment community based efforts in increasing access to quality health care. For the Coordinator, he/she will interface with a range of community-based organization staff, such as program coordinators and assistant coordinators, data managers and data entry staff, and leaders. Primary current infectious disease programs coordinated by GHAP partners include malaria , tuberculosis , and lymphatic filariasis control. The ID Coordinator's main responsibilities will be working on the malaria and village health worker based programs (malaria, diarrhea and ARI).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In current infectious disease programs, ID Coordinator will build capacity of partners to:

o Edit, update, and develop health worker training curricula

o Prepare/facilitate as well as co-facilitate trainings

o Coordinate with other units to implement data management systems

o Perform data analysis and interpretation

o Conduct routine program monitoring and evaluation

o Update programmatic guidelines

o Draft donor reports (gather data, assist partner organizations to draft)

o Develop program budgets (including gathering necessary information)

o Advocate for their work (work with partners to generate potential materials, e.g. presentations, abstracts)

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist GHAP staff on other program tasks or operational issues as needed

• Assist in inter-/intra-organization program coordination

Skills and Experience:

• Appropriate time management and priority setting skills in a fast paced work environment

• Ability to work as a team player, being flexible and patient

• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation of public health programs
