Marks Sattin Senior International Trade Policy Manager

A leading global fast-moving consumer goods company seeks a seasoned, commercially-minded International Trade Policy Manager to monitor, analyse and advise on international trade and investment policies and their impacts on market dynamics and business competitiveness. The International Trade Policy Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing all aspects of trade and investment policy issues (e.g. WTO, bilateral preferences, FTAs, regional trade blocs, and bilateral investment agreements) with a focus on forecasting the commercial implications of trade policy scenarios and developing advocacy and commercial strategies to mitigate risks and seize opportunities;
  • Evaluating if the best available current and future customs relief schemes and agreements are being leveraged worldwide for finished goods and raw materials.
  • Analysing the intersection of trade policies with investment rules, intellectual property rights, product regulation, and tax policies;
  • Interpreting and commenting on academic, international financial institution and governmental research, proposals, and announcements concerning relevant trade policy issues;
  • Developing relationships with counterparts in government, private sector and international organisations that work on trade and investment issues.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree, preferably in international affairs or economics
  • 5+ years experience working on trade and investment in the public or private sector
  • Specific experience with trade policy, trade law, dispute settlement, investment and international financial institutions
  • Ideal candidate will have awareness of supply chain management, and excel at translating trade policy analysis for many audiences, including business, international organisation and government stakeholders.
