Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant - Western Balkans

Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant (PAFA) - WFD's Western Balkans programme

The Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) is dedicated to supporting the development of democratic systems of government.

Established in 1992 and sponsored by the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, WFD works to strengthen the institutions of democracy. It does this primarily by supporting the development of parliaments, political party structures and civil society organisations. It is uniquely placed to draw directly on the expertise of the Westminster political parties in all its work.

WFD has supported transitions to democracy in central and Eastern Europe, strengthened multi-party democracies in Africa, and extended its work to the Middle East and North Africa in 2004. This year the organisation celebrates its 20th anniversary – a year in which it’s set to greatly increase its role and impact as a world leader in supporting the development of democracy. Today its focus ranges from sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, to the Balkans, Eastern Europe and increasingly Asia.

The Western Balkans programme aims to strengthen the role of parliaments (with a focus on Committees of Economy and Finance, European Integration, and Legislation) in improving the competitiveness and economic growth of countries in the Western Balkans.
