GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include:
Goldstrike’s process division has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Engineer to join their team.

The Chemical Engineer optimizes the safe operation of the gold treatment plant by providing analysis, research, development and advice relating to production inputs.

The candidate will be a dynamic leader with excellent communication skills. It is expected that the candidate will be able to work closely with production, maintenance, management and outside departments to ensure environmental compliance and safe and optimum functionality of plant operations.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following: • Actively contribute to the process area safety and safety programs
• Identify process improvement opportunities and then instigate process improvements and cost reduction projects
• Provide process engineering support and guidance to operations and maintenance
• Develop and update reagent models
• Assist in developing operational budgets
• Provide technical analysis

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Process related degree required
• Knowledge of the principles & methods used in complex metallurgical and processing analysis, hands- on practical application and process optimization is highly preferred
• Experience with Refractory Gold Processing preferred
• Experience with Xeras (Runge) or similar budgeting tools preferred
• Able to research, analyze information and draw conclusions, and take action to resolve operational, environmental issues, permit compliance and problem resolution from an operating plant status required
• Proficiency in multiple software applications and network platforms required
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to work and construct a team environment that creates and enhances the Barrick vision through understanding and capture of future opportunities required
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of position required
