Chief Electrical Engineer United States-Nevada-Cortez

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include:
The Chief Electrical Engineer will support capital and expense projects throughout an operating mining site and provide technical assistance to the operating and maintenance groups throughout the property. Successful candidate will direct maintenance activities for all major substations and high voltage equipment as well as design and oversee technical aspects of construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and electrical codes and to ensure safe work performance. Responsible for conducting engineering analyses and performing computer related functions such as drawings, spreadsheets and database compilations. Candidate will facilitate on-going maintenance of the main sub-stations, overhead power lines, and power distribution switchgear. Must be able to interface and communicate effectively with customers through performance of field investigations in response to customers’ needs. Other duties as assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required
• Minimum of five (5) years of mining related electrical engineering experience is preferred.
• Excellent leadership ability required
• Proven safe work record required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and willingness to work in team environment required
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with maintenance technicians and personnel of other departments required
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
